Abstract:
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a common and persistent psychological disorder that affects many children between the ages of 3 and 17 years worldwide. ADHD is the most commonly diagnosed neurodevelopment illness. It is a condition characterized by inattention, impulsivity, and hyperactivity. Mothers have described the care of a child with ADHD as demanding and placing restrictions on their social lives and their time for themselves. Families of children with ADHD are at increased risk due to problems, including psychological and physical problems in other family members. The sense of Coherence (SOC) affects the individual's resources to deal with difficult situations. Individuals are always exposed to stress - it is part of the human environment. Several studies on the relationship between SOC and stress have identified that people with a strong SOC tend to cope with stressful situations better, leading to improved health and well-being. On the other hand, people with weak SOC tend to be more exposed to stress and their negative health effects. The birth of a child with mental disability affects family functions including mental health, dynamism and purpose. Mothers of mentally disabled children have lower psychosocial and psychological well-being and greater levels of anxiety, shame and embarrassment compared to mothers of ordinary children
