Efficacy of laser-activated and non-activated mesenchymal stem cells for healing chronic foot ulcers in elderly patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus

Abstract:
The laser-activated MSCs treatment is more efficacious than MSCs without laser activation in promoting chronic foot ulcer healing in elderly patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. However, the efficacy of both MSCs therapies is superior to that of the conventional treatment. These results should encourage proceeding to larger controlled studies before widespread clinical application.
